Monuments & Memorials

On Sunday, September 14, 2003 representatives of the military, veteran's groups, Genesee County, CW re-enactment groups, SUVCW, Allied Orders, and the public met to rededicate the Gov. Crapo Post GAR Memorial on the front lawn of the newly refurbished Genesee County Court House.

The Gov. Crapo Camp proceeded to rededicate the stone monument, with a ceremony similar to that used when the monument was originally dedicated by the GAR in 1924.

Members of the Daughters of Union Veterans and the Women's Relief Corp were on hand with Sister Nancy Newman presenting a floral tribute on behalf of the DUV. Brother James Thompson presented a similar tribute on behalf of the Gov. Crapo Camp #145 and the SUVCW.
